5 Blue Knights Win Postseason Awards

The Olney Central Blue Knights are well represented in the All-Conference and All-Region selections.  With a regular season record of 40-14, OCC has 5 players that received awards.  Making the GRAC All Conference Team are RHP Renton Poole, LHP Braden Scott, and C/DH Jayden Beshears.

Poole has already set the school record for career K's passing current big leaguer Jerad Eickhoff last week while posting a 7-2 mark striking out 111 batters in 77.1 innings to go with a 1.86 ERA.  Poole was also awarded with GRAC Pitcher of the Year.

Braden Scott started his college career on a very good note finishing his freshman regular season with a 7-1 record and a 1.26 ERA.  Scott is a LHP from Shakamak HS in Jasonville, Indiana and he also managed to strike out 60 hitters in 57.1 innings.  Both Scott and Poole will start in the Blue Knights first two tournament games respectively.  

Jayden Beshears has been a consistent hitter in the middle of OCC's lineup in each of his two years as a Blue Knight and he finished the regular season with a .364 batting average while leading the team in doubles (17) and tying for the team lead in walks (22).

Along with these 3, Jordan Cozart was named to the All Region 24 squad as the Utility Player.  Cozart finished his freshman regular season with a .390 average which lead the offense while also leading the team in triples (4) OBP (.458) and SLUG (.551).  Cozart also contributed on the mound as he threw 12 innings while posting a 2.25 ERA and picking up a pair of saves.

On the All Defensive Team the Blue Knights had one representative in Anthony Travelsted.  Travelsted started 52 of 54 games for the Blue Knights primarily in RF and also had a good year at the plate finishing with a .363 average leading the team in runs scored (45) and hits (61)
