Jimmy Chitwood has committed to play in his hometown at the University of Southern Indiana next year. The sophomore catcher attended Evansville Central High School.
USI is considered one of the top division 2 programs in the country and have won 2 national championships (2010, 2014) in recent years.
His freshman year, Chitwood was used behind the plate and as a pinch hitter. He was 3 for 5 on runners caught stealing and did not commit an error on the season.
